Multiple hostname registered to one IP Address


in current environment have noticed there many machines still have ip addresses registered.

have checked dns server (windows server 2003) and noticed there more 1 pointer record same ip address allocated different hostnames.

can ensure records date dhcp server?

have done far checked:

1) checked dhcp server, settings dns.
check box ticked enable dns dynamics
radio button checked for dynamically update dns , ptr if requested dhcp clients
check box ticked discard , ptr records when lease deleted.

2) checked dns settings:
scavenging not enabled.

can please advise me option may have incorrect or else need do?
