event id 5:
i notice there has norton antivirus installed on computer. narrow down issue, please try perform clean boot steps below:
1. click start->run...->type msconfig , press enter.
2. click services tab , select hide microsoft services , disable third party services.
3. click startup tab , disable startup items.
4. click ok , choose restart.
5. after reboot, check whether problem still occurs.
6. if there no more problems, please use above steps enable services , startup items 1 one in order figure out root cause of issue.
event id: 1000, 1517, 1524:
these events indicate errors in user profile on computer. resolve problem, may use microsoft user profile hive cleanup service (uphclean) reconcile user profiles according microsoft knowledge base article 837115.

event id: 1054:
i'd know on problematic windows xp computer there has gigabit ethernet nic installed. there known issue event id 1054 (with error message "the specified domain either not exist or not contacted") can occur because link status fluctuates network adapter
driver initializes , network adapter hardware negotiates link network infrastructure. group policy application stack executes before negotiation process completed , can fail because of absence of valid link.
to resolve problem related link status fluctuation use steps in:

to prevent network adapter detecting link state:
1. open registry editor (regedt32.exe)
2. go following key in registry:
hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\tcpip\parameters
3. add following registry value:
value name: disabledhcpmediasense
data type: reg_dword -boolean
value data range: 0, 1 (false, true) default: 0 (false)
