WSUS auto restart

i have question.  re-prompt restart scheduled installations - force restart after initial prompt?

i have wait following period before prompting again scheduled restart(minutes): 60
so if postpones force restart?  anyway turn off leaving configure automatic updates enabled?
have configure automatic updated enabled , auto download , schedule install
, install @ 20:00

the policy setting re-prompt restart scheduled installations allows configure amount of time after privileged user re-prompted restart system when have deferred restart.

the behavior of setting varies os os. on windows xp , windows server 2003, user given simple dialog 2 buttons: "reboot now" , "reboot later", , dialog generated every xx minutes (10 minutes default) according how policy setting configured.

on vista , later systems different behavior exists. user presented dialog 3 pre-defined options: 10 minutes, 1 hour, , 4 hours.

what's notable option if user logs off of system, , cannot respond new prompt, system interpret consent reboot system, , reboot initiated. can particularly dangerous (and undesirable) on server operating systems, tread carefully.

disabling option not prevent ability defer reboot, merely forces interval 10 minutes.

for more information on configuration options available windows update agent, see these 2 resources:
