hi everyone.   i planning have server core installed on different servers specific purpose roles.   but wondering regarding security risks.   we can not install applications on server core, can not install antivirus software .   can virus infect server core machine ??   what worms ? have worry these issues server core , not ?   thanks   on installing applications it seems general misconception server core installations of windows server 2008 have no gui , can't install application on top of them. opposite true.   server core has graphical user interface (gui), it's not full fledged one you can install applications on server core you can install anti-virus programs on server core.   the thing important remember these programs must not dependent on grphical user interface elements, explorer.exe, .net framework , microsoft management console, since these not present in server core.   to day have found anti-virus programs work on server...

hi all,  quick q, deploying new ad ds deployment on 2012 across 5 uk sites.  i following following ms article sites , dc deployments  as defined here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731569(v=ws.10).aspx .  one decision document defines is, if site has more 100 users dc should deployed locally. each of our sites have >100 users.   i know ms best practice should followed sites have resilient bw in sites these sites, experience should these sites consolidated in single site?  we removing exchange services no local ad ds reliant servers present? my thinking consolidate sites , dcs if goes wrong such latency issues guess first question asked did follow ms guidelines!! on 2nd note have dr site no users present, looking deploy 2 dcs here.  could site consolidated in site here 1gbps link other site resiliency?  agian thoughts here work fine means users in local site authenticate locally , dcs in dr site thanks as l...

hi guys i have ms vdi infrastructure. when create new user , set account "change password @ next login" error saying incorrect username , password @ rd webserver form. however, when create new user , set account "password never expires", works , user can login. it seems ms vdi environment not facilitate changing passwords @ next login nor changing passwords during sessions. i need new users able "change passwords @ next login". how can working??????????? jk any feedback??? jk Windows Server  >  Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services)
