Router to router vpn and servers

hi,

i have 2 routers creating vpn.  1 router lan side network 192.168.1.0 while other 1 192.168.10.0.  can ping , tracert either network (any computer) other network can "see" computers in 1 direction.  .10 network, when type in explorer  \\192.168.1.4  says cannot find address.  .1 network when type \\192.168.10.2, lists shares available on computer , can access them fine.  not using fqdn or computer names, using ip addresses.  can remote desktop computer computer using lan ip.  ideas ?

that fact can ping computers on either subnet either subnet covers layers 1-3 in osi model.  so, doesn't appear network related regards ip connectivity/routing. 

do have firewall enabled on 192.168.1.4 possibly allow incoming icmp packets not smb?
