i have vm has 2 nics, 1 facing inward local network , other nic facing public internet. the public nic has 13 of 14 available public fixed ip address block assigned it and vm responds of them fine, is, until vm moved server. when vm moved host peculiar thing happens. vm responds fine main ip address of nic, packets sent other 12 ip addresses configured on nic, packets never make nic. or @ least i can't see them , neither can vm. the 2 hosts vm moved between both have same type network adapter , connect cisco router routing duties public internet , sits on 14th ip address of public fixed ip address block default gateway. if move vm 1st host, ip addresses respond, if move 2nd host, vm responds main ip address assigned on nic. i can recover cycling power on cisco router! ip addresses respond on host vm on when cisco had power cycled. if vm moved other host same issue again. i guess works because forces router to refresh its internal routing table , mac ip port assignm

hi first post here goes.... we have 2003 r2 server several volumes, dfs replication groups can created , replicate fine apart on 1 volume. the volume in question mounted volume. can select folders volume using dfsr wizard , group creates without errors , can see in ad etc. when 2003 r2 server picks groups settings fails stating repliation unable start because volume not supported, gives volume guid id. here's funny part, volume guid in event log different volume 1 selected during dfsr group creation wizard. added folders e:\ drive when dfsr group tries start uses guid q:\ drive. both volumes have different guid's seen using mountvol , in registry. this happens on 1 mounted volume, removed unwanted drives registry etc still can't replication work on 1 particular mounted volume. have 3 other servers similar configuration , replicating data mounted volume. has got ideas why when create replication group on e:\foldername mounted volume picks guid of volume.

    there no more space in original disk on file server, note: both file server , disks based on vm , shared database . plan add 1 fresh disk resolve problem of insufficient disk space, , wanna know whether dfs able fix following situation or not? no 1.  keep original folders , documents unchanged, such p:\dept\sales\kevin.xlsx, p:\ mapping driver on client , linked d:\dept\sales on file server. decide use standalone of dfs create 1 connection new disk. client, feel nothing invariable, when uploads , change original data, data should saved in new disk rather old one. no 2 . keep folder permission unchanged in contrast old folders or files. is dfs useful make them come true? if not, whether there better method exists. hi, from description, setup stand-alone namespace newly created files saved new hard disk (maybe drive e) instead of drive d out of space. i'm afraid stand-alone namespace not work this. cannot assign 2 folders on same server as same dfs folder targe
