Restoring Active Directory files (NTDS.DIT and SYSVOL folder)

good afternoon!

is possible recover ad recovering ntds.dit , sysvol folder backup?

(provided i'm recovering these files same server).

i know microsoft supported scenario requires recovery of whole system state, wonder if necessary in cases? may go wrong if ad database , sysvol restored - potential risks of such recovery?

if additional data has recovered prefer recover instead of reverting whole system state (i.e. recovering specific registry parameters instead of restoring whole registry older state) since can affect other applications installed on server. not find documentation describing ad dependencies. can advise on this?

quick answer: no it's not possible without having lot of insight active directory internals isn't available.
