Word and Excel slow to open on TS 2012 R2


hi guys,

have issue 1 of our deployed servers, times call saying performance poor word , excel. takes 1 min open, whether opening start menu or opening existing document (size of document irrelevant <1mb - 10mb).

list of things i've ruled out/done

user load issues irrelevant has happened 5 users , happened 30 users.

i'm sure not resources:

2x e5-2650 @2.3ghz = total 40 cores
128gb of ram
4x300gb 15k sas hdd raid 5 + hotspare
have reinstalled office.

hardware acceleration office graphics disabled.

office 2013 pp 32-bit

happens files stored locally or on network 

dose not happen admin

dose not happen when run in safemode

when issues happening affects everyone

starts , stops happening no cause

hi,

it’s difficult troubleshoot random performance issue.

by next time issue occurs, may use network monitor , process monitor further analyze issue.

some general suggestions patch windows system, keep network , display drivers date , disable third party security software test.

please note there known issue july , august rollups windows server 2012 r2, please not install them onto rds servers yet.
