How to edit TS RemoteApp file extension association

hi,

 

i know if it's possible edit file type association after publish application in ts 2008. during publishing process there no way add own extensions in .msi package.

i interested if there way add own extensions, in special (url associations).

to more specific, published ie , when created .msi package following extension added: .html, .htm, .gif, .mfp, .mht.

for these extensions remote ie takes on when click on embedded link in outlook or other application looks this:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/securosis/~3/230375437/

or even

http://www.microsoft.com

 

the link association doesn't work.

 

i managed change file type association on client side http url use remote ie:

"mstsc.exe" /remotefile:"%1" "c:\program files\iexplore.rdp"

 

....now when click on embedded link opens remote ie , asks me authentication. after authenticate message comes up:
"the remote program server not configured open type of data file attempting open. complete name of file trying open is:

 http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/securosis/~3/230375437/ " or "http://www.microsoft.com"

 

if open iexplore.rdp (for editing) can see extensions there , add more....the question be.....how add "http url" there ...and if it's enough change rdp file...or there more done on server side....and how?

 

i appreciate on this. i'm stuck , don't know more...or maybe suggest different forum post issue.

hi adrian,

unfortunatly, dont support scenario.
however valueable feedback, , consider in future.
in meantime, can try thridparty msi authoring tools accomplish this.
