Shadow Copies not growing to use available space

hi,

i have 500gb volume on windows server 2012 r2, around 80gb of free space. have shadow copies configured on few months snapshot taken 3 times day, every day. have set limit snapshots of 50gb.

when attempt @ 'previous versions' see past few days restore from. what's more, when view properties of shadow copies, , click 'details' button, see

volume: e:\
used: 5.26gb
limit: 50gb

i want shadow copies use 50gb give longer history file restores - never uses more 10% of volume size, despite me specifying custom limit of 50gb.

what problem be?

the maximum number of software shadow copies each volume 512. however, default can maintain 64 shadow copies used shadow copies of shared folders feature. when limit reached, oldest shadow copy deleted , cannot retrieved.

to change limit shadow copies of shared folders feature, use maxshadowcopies registry key. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb891959(v=vs.85).aspx
